The January meeting of Northumbrian Scribes had to be cancelled because the weather was so bad but there is another January event to look forward to. Words Set Free is an exhibition of work by members of Letter Exchange, a group of expert typographers, calligraphers and lettercutters and it will be on at the Design Centre in Sunderland from 16 January until 20 February. There is a Private View on 31 January and the details are given above.

  1. Hello there,

I met Susan at Bede's World recently and we talked about her coming up to Durham University as part of my residency for the University and the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels.

She agreed to come and take a group of students/staff and help us learn calligraphy by trying to copy a page or section of the Lindisfarne Gospels.

I got very excited about this and the University think its great too. But unfortunately, I've lost the card she gave me. Is it possible to send me her e-mail address please? Or give her mine?

The University was thinking around Autumn time but it would be good to get it booked in as soon as we can and I really want to link up with Susan. There would be a payment for the session too.

    Many thanks - Richard
